As a wedding officiant, I work with couples to create ceremonies that reflect their unique values, beliefs and personalities. I help them find the words that express the reasons they love each other and the promises they are inspired to make to one another. I might begin ceremonies with a poem, a prayer, or a guided visualization, depending on the couple’s preference. I help them find the words to affirm their love to one another and the world. Some of these couples have  since become parents and have invited me to perform baby blessing or naming ceremonies. Others have asked me to perform house blessings or officiate at memorials. Each ceremony is unique and each one is memorable. I feel honored to play a small part, helping to create and hold sacred space in such a meaningful time.
